ABOUT

Raymond Victor Andersson, ASyM. BSc (Sy). DipGov (Sy). DipGov (Inv). DipFMI. Dip Trg&Assess Sys. Company Directors Course Diploma. Cert IV in Gov (Pers Vetting). CCSMS. ICPS. CATS. FCiiSCM, is an Australian born international, national, corporate security and crime prevention professional.

 

Ray having served his nation in the Australian Army between 1972 - 1998, gained an interest and practical experience in leadership, management, administration, military security, counter intelligence and protective security, utilising models and techniques that could be applied across whole of government and business.

Ray continued to gain advance knowledge of the science, art and management of security along with crime prevention techniques and administrative management through work with government, commercial, retail, accounting, education and extraction mining industries.

This experience and knowledge has been complemented through ongoing education and training in the many facets of security, Counter Intelligence, Counter Espionage, Cyber-security, personnel administration, management, leadership, crime prevention, global diplomacy, adult education/training systems and development skill sets, that ensured Rays status as a true professional in the industry, internationally.

Ray undertook international training to achieve the status of International Crime Prevention Specialist (through the International Society of Crime Prevention Practitioners) and Certified Corporate Security Management Specialist and Certified Anti-Terrorism Specialist (through the Chartered international Institute of Security and Crisis Management)

​

Ray has had an outstanding career of over thirty years in providing advice and leadership on security, crime prevention, administration and general management in many levels of military, government, business, education/training and mining fields and has been involved in professionalising the security industry through advocating advanced education, training and codes of conduct, where he has ‘walked the talk’ in Australia and internationally.

​

Ray has represented the Australian security profession in Washington DC, London, Beijing, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Jakarta and has articles published on a range of security and crime prevention matters in national and international publications.  He has been a guest speaker and panel member at security, crime prevention and anti-terrorism conferences and forums in Queensland, the Northern Territory, Kuala Lumpur and Beijing.

Ray was awarded the Australian security industry’s award of Australian Security Medal for Conspicuous Service in 2017 [1] .

​

The Australian Security Medal (ASyM) recognises the outstanding career and character of the security professionals who have demonstrated a consistent, high-level contribution to the wider community, possibly via innovative non-core business activities and projects, or via extraordinary performance in their professional role.   

​

He is one of fifty professionals in Australia and New Zealand that were awarded the designation of a Registered Security Professional and was a member of Security Professionals Australasia, the peak representational body for the security profession in Australia and New Zealand.

​

Ray maintains his knowledge of national and international developments in security, management, leadership and crime prevention along with establishing quality professional networking through his membership to a number of national and international security, management and leadership communities including:

    • Elected by the City of London Court of Common Council, by redemption, as a ‘Freeman of The City of London, as a Security Professional’ [2] [3],
